While most waterjets being offered are traditional XY tables, I-Cubed has taken a different approach to provide faster and more flexible machines to customers. The Robotic Waterjets are easily programed in 2 or multi axis both at the machine and offline utilizing their exclusive Robomaster software bundle.

If the appropriate guarding is incorporated into the equipment the full speed of the robots can be utilized at 3 meters per second. Should a more open concept be required then the robots are limited to the local industrial safety standard of 600 IPM.

Robots are typically 5 or 6 axis and often more. Programming complex multi dimensional shapes is an easy process compared to traditional XY tables. Often feature can be reached with the robot’s flexibility where traditional XY table can not.

Many options can be added to a robotic waterjet machine to customize it for your specific requirement. Additional technologies like laser or Plasma can be easily integrated. Secondary processes like part marking or scribing to machining, taping or grinding can be added to reduce part manufacturing cost. Often second catcher tanks are added to increase the throughput eliminating idle time of loading and unloading in low duty cycle applications. This economical feature can double the output in certain applications like cutting glass or soft materials like rubber/foam.

The robot models we use are designed for extremely harsh environments which is the perfect for waterjet cutting. There are no ball screws or parts to repair or replace as a result of the machine being exposed to the abrasive environment of waterjet cutting.
