The Hard Rock Garnet offered by Yorvik Minerals was developed in collaboration with Waterjet equipment manufacturers. The product is crushed Garnet from Crystalline Almandite Garnet deposits, one of the hardest minerals available. The act of being crushed creates sharper edges which act as a faster, harder, efficient and superior cutting tool which leaves less burr. This makes HR Garnet perfect for industrial applications, more efficient and cost-saving than alluvial source mineral. When used in Waterjet cutting applications, the requirement for dust free material is higher to reduce the potential of clogging in the abrasive feeding system. After going through a double cleaning process, the Hard Rock Garnet also has a high level of purity with a very low amount of dust which allows the cutting process to run more smoothly. Hard Rock (Crushed Garnet) will out preform Alluvial (river rock) by 10 to 20% in most applications. Some applications can see as much as a 50% increase in speed.
